The disappearing art of photography books has led me to try and salvage, save, and highlight moments within these books that I find interesting. The work is copyrighted, therefore I cannot give entire passages or chapters, nor show scans of all the work. My intention is not to steal the work for blog content, but to get my readers/followers excited about these books to possibly seek them out for themselves. So let the teasing begin:
In New Color / New Work, the second book from editor Sally Eauclaire on color photography, she moves beyond single images that have impact, and more towards series, what makes them special, and how the artist created them.
“These portfolios provied readers with a perception of the relationship of each image to others produced during the same period, and make it possible to include photographs that function well as a part of a group but less well in isolation” – Sally Eauclaire
